I participated in the 35th annual March for Life in Washington DC on Tuesday, January 22. I suppose that it's supposed to be a kind of religious experience, standing up for what you believe in, even in hardships. I wish there wasn't a need for such a march, and I wish I could bear the hardships without complaint. But I hated the bus ride, and the cold, and the standing in a crowd going nowhere.
I loved the great conversations that I got to have with some of the teens. I loved the feeling of my warm bed when I got home. Days like that always make me so grateful to have a bed.
That's "Grandpa" (Chuck Connelly) and I just after we got off the bus. He's a trooper. We were both born before abortion was legal.
